Leaves 1.2–2.5 cm wide; blade deep green, without budprints, margins nonfiliferous, apical spine brown, stout and firm, 1.2–1.9 cm. Scape 2–4 m. Inflorescences subspicate to narrowly racemose-paniculate; peduncle 0.4–4 cm. Flowers 2 (–6) per cluster, 3.5–5 cm; perianth-tube 11 × 13 mm, limb lobes deep yellow; filaments inserted 8 mm above perianth base; ovary 1.6 cm.


Phenology: Flowering late spring–summer.
Habitat: Gravelly to rocky places, mostly in desert scrub, grasslands, juniper and oak woodlands
Elevation: 1100–2000 m

Discussion

Agave schottii var. treleasei may be of a hybrid origin involving A. chrysantha or A. palmeri and A. schottii var. schottii.
